MIAMI, FL – FIU Athletics and Miccosukee Casino & Resort announced Wednesday a three-year partnership to unite and expand the impact and vision of both organizations. With deep ties in South Florida, they are creating a platform to commemorate community, culture, and shared growth.

Jersey Patch Sponsorship

At the start of the 2026-27 season, Miccosukee Casino & Resort will be the first jersey patch sponsor and appear on FIU Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Baseball jerseys.

Miccosukee will also be sponsoring FIU Football’s 25th Anniversary Celebration this fall. The year-long celebration will honor the inaugural 2002 FIU Football squad. They were the presenting sponsor of the first-ever game on August 29, 2002, a 27-3 win over St. Peter’s.
“We are proud to partner with FIU Athletics and celebrate this important milestone for Panther football,” said Brad Rhines, President and General Manager of Miccosukee Casino & Resort. “This partnership allows us to support an outstanding institution with deep roots in South Florida while creating new opportunities to connect with fans, families and the broader community.”
Van Wagner, the third-party multimedia rights partner for FIU since 2016, helped enable the agreement and concept of future opportunities to strengthen the partnership in years to come.

FIU’s Partnership

FIU Athletics will help feature the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida and Miccosukee Casino & Resort through diverse and immersive campaigns, storytelling, community engagement, and combined programming. Miccosukee will provide resources, a golf and country club, education, and distinctive cultural experiences to FIU student-athletes, alumni, students, and staff.

For the 25th Anniversary celebration, FIU Athletics and Miccosukee Casino & Resort have made a co-branded commemorative logo and introduced a retail storefront presenting exclusive items.
Miccosukee will be branded on the field at Pitbull Stadium and throughout the concourses. Supplementary anniversary-themed activations, fan experiences, and celebrations will be announced leading up to next month’s kickoff and continue throughout the season.
“This partnership is about much more than placing a logo on a jersey or a field,” said FIU Director of Athletics Scott Carr. “It is about aligning with a community whose history, values, and impact are woven into the fabric of South Florida. The Miccosukee Tribe has an incredible story of perseverance, cultural preservation, and innovation. Through FIU Athletics, we are proud to help amplify their story and Miccosukee Casino & Resort, which, importantly, in today’s collegiate landscape, does not offer sports betting. Together, we will celebrate our shared community while creating meaningful opportunities that benefit both organizations for years to come.”

Miccosukee’s Impact

Miccosukee Casino & Resort recently broke ground on an expansion project that includes a new waterpark and lazy river experience, increased dining choices, expanded entertainment contributions, upgraded rooms, and casino and guest services that will establish the property as a leading destination in South Florida.
The history, culture, and lasting connection of Miccosukee to the Everglades have impacted the story of South Florida for generations. Miccosukee people have long been stewards of the Everglades and built a legacy focused on resilience, preservation, and community. Their ancestral ties to the area and presence near FIU make the partnership a natural alliance between organizations dedicated to recognizing and promoting the communities they serve.
