PENSACOLA, FL – After clinching the Second-Half division this past Sunday in the Southern League, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos got their first taste of their upcoming playoff opponent. The Blue Wahoos showed they were ready for postseason baseball after a 15-7 annihilation of the Biloxi Shuckers.

Wahoos Change Script in the Sixth

Jacob Miller had a rough outing, allowing Biloxi’s first five base runners to reach base. The Shuckers had themselves a three-run inning in the opening frame before Pensacola recorded its first hit. The Blue Wahoos loaded up the bases in the first inning but scored just one run on a sac fly from Marlins prospect Max Williams.

Miller’s outing ended after three innings, allowing five hits, three runs, three walks, and two strikeouts. Jaydenn Estanista was the first player out of the bullpen for Pensacola, and he quickly allowed two runs in the fourth inning. He tossed two innings, allowing two hits and two walks on three strikeouts. In the bottom of the fourth, Ethan O’Donnell hit a two-run double for Pensacola, making it 5-3.

The Blue Wahoos changed the game’s outcome for good in the sixth inning. Williams started the inning with a solo homer, his fourth one with the Wahoos in as many games. With the bases loaded, Dylan Jasso grounded into a force out, but an infield error led to two runs, giving Pensacola a 6-5 lead.

Nine Run Eighth Inning

Tristen Stevens earned his first win of the season after throwing two scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to 0.90 over his first 10 innings. The Wahoos unleashed at the plate with a nine-run eighth inning. It started with Jasso connecting on a two-run single and then Marlins prospect Dillon Lewis getting walked with the bases loaded to make it 9-5.

Afterwards, both Williams and Ryan Ignoffo had RBI singles. O’Donnell then hit a sac fly before Colby Shade capped off the rally with a bases-clearing single.

Nigel Belgrave got the hold after striking out three hitters in the eighth, and despite the Shuckers hitting back-to-back homers in the ninth, Josh Hejka pulled through.
The Blue Wahoos finished with their highest-scoring game of 2026, and their 17 hits were also their third-most in a game this season. Williams went 3/4 with three runs and three RBI, while O’Donnell went 3/3 with two runs and three RBI.
