Twitter reacts to Pacquiao getting robbed ….. again.

In what has become a shocking, controversial outcome, Jeff Horn (17-0-1, 11 KOs) upset Manny Pacquiao (59-7-2, 38 KOs) by unanimous decision to win the WBO world welterweight title Sunday at Suncorp Stadium in his hometown of Brisbane, Australia. The fight began with a lot of promise and intrigue, as the proven legend (Pacquiao) was taking on the Rocky Balboa-like, local kid.

This was Horn’s first pro fight against a legit opponent, in a pro career that began in 2013. Pacquiao clearly isn’t the fighter he used to be. His best days as an elite boxer are obviously behind him, as he struggled with Horn at times, and was unable to finish the 29-year-old in a ninth round where he ended the round looking like Sloth from the Goonies.

A crowd of over fifty thousand strong packed that stadium and everyone in attendance could not have asked for a better fight. Blood gushed down both fighters’ faces, due to a combination of accidental head-butts and Pacquiao landing some strong powerful exchanges. So much blood …. like, a lot of blood.

The fans ate up every second of it. The fight delivered, it provided some great action AND was free on ESPN. Unfortunately, in true boxing fashion, the result of the fight left the entire nation of the Philippines and pretty much anyone who watched the fight, in complete disbelief. Somehow one of the judges actually scored the fight 117-111! C’mon man! I do respect the fight Horny put up. He stood there for the full 12 rounds and took it all, but there is no way he deserved to win, let alone in unanimous fashion. The only thing that always stays undefeated is the internet, and the tweets from the fight were proof of that.
