Miami, FL – At the end of the 2025 volleyball season, FIU Athletics announced that Coach Cristina Robertson would not return. Fans wondered who would lead the team in 2026. We now have our answer for FIU Volleyball: Coach Flavia Siqueira.
Coach Siqueira has a track record of success, which is a great trait as she and her new staff rework this roster and the transfer portal. After spending the past two seasons in Atlanta coaching the Georgia State Panthers, she is ready to bring her talents to Miami and to the Panther community. At Georgia State, Coach Siqueira boasted a record of 35-23.
Looking ahead, Coach Siqueira will have an opportunity to build her staff and recently announced the addition of Coach Camilo Guerci, who returns to FIU after serving as the head recruiting coordinator for Miami Hype Volleyball Club. Now returning to FIU, he will serve as an assistant coach and assist with recruiting.
Returning is assistant coach Chen Abramovich, who continues to bring leadership and experience from her time with the 2018 National Champions, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The first signee of the Siqueira campaign is sophomore setter Ivona Lazovic, who is transferring from St. Mary’s College of California. Her freshman season was highlighted by her 420 assists in a competitive West Coast Conference.

Another new Panther is opposite hitter Gina Fedrigo, who joins FIU after graduating from Eisenhower High School in Macomb, Michigan. During her high school career, she recorded over 900 kills, earned two team MVP awards, and was selected to the All-Conference and All-Region teams.
And the newest addition is Middle Blocker, Morgan Sears. Who joins FIU as a freshman and could come in and make an immediate impact.
With a proven winner at the helm, a re-energized staff, and an influx of promising talent, FIU Volleyball is clearly entering a new era under Coach Flavia Siqueira. The foundation is being laid now, but the expectations are already rising in Miami. If early moves are any indication, Panther fans can look forward to a program that competes, develops, and consistently pushes for conference relevance for years to come.
