Miami, Florida – Miguel Rojas and Adam Duvall swung for the fences providing the needed offensive sparks to help the Marlins sweep the Diamondbacks. Pablo López squared off against Madison Bumgarner in what became an entertaining pitchers’ duel. It certainly wasn’t López’s best night but the righty pitched his way out of three jams giving up just one unearned run. Despite the no-decision, he fanned six in five innings of work. Dylan Floro ended up with the W as the Marlins won 3-1. Yimi García recorded his fifth save of the year.
It was Duvall’s sixth homer of 2021, his only hit of the game.

Early Struggles
López pitched around a single, a hit-by-pitch, and a walk to strand two runners at the corners in the first. The defense backed him up with a 4-6-3 double play. That same inning, Miguel Rojas hit his first home run of the season on a 2-1 count, taking Bumgarner deep to left.
