MIAMI, FL – The Miami Marlins totaled 10 hits on a night where they used eight different pitchers on the mound. They were able to outperform the San Francisco Giants thanks to Owen Caissie having what was arguably his best game of the season in the Marlins 4-3 win.
Owen Caissie Totals Seven Bases
To date, Owen Caissie hasn’t had too many memorable games this year. On March 29th, he hit a walk-off homer against the Rockies. April 9th, he totaled five bases after hitting two doubles and driving in three. Today, June 19th, was undoubtedly his best performance of the season.
The left-handed hitter went 3/4 at the plate with a double and a home run for a total of seven bases and three RBI. In the first inning, he hit a solo home run off of Landen Roupp at an exit speed of 104 miles per hour, traveling 401 feet.
In the fifth inning, he drove in Javier Sanoja on a double to right field, giving the Marlins a 2-1 edge.

Bullpen Day Gets the Job Done
With Lake Bachar announced as today’s starter, it was known that it would be a bullpen game. The Giants were able to pressure him a bit in his outing. He threw 37 pitches in 1.1 innings, allowing three hits, two walks, and a run. Bachar used a six-pitch mix, relying on the slider 30% of the time.
John King tossed 1.1 scoreless innings. His lone strikeout came on the changeup. Anthony Bender threw 1.1 innings of scoreless work as well. He mostly used his sweeper (64%) and generated four swings on the pitch.
Next up came Michael Petersen in the fifth. He gave up a towering home run to the power-hitting Rafael Devers. Still, he was able to complete the inning and was Miami’s hardest thrower of the evening. His fastball averaged 98.0, and he maxed out at 98.9 MPH.

Cade Gibson earned his first win of the season after tossing 1.2 innings from the end of the sixth into the beginning of the eighth inning. He divided his pitches between the sinker, curveball, sweeper, changeup, and slider.
Calvin Faucher got his eighth hold of 2026 after 0.2 innings of work in the eighth. Pete Fairbanks earned his 10th save after shutting the door in the final frame.
