Lemon City Live 2025 Heisman Watchlist | Week 10

Miami, Florida – For the first time in a while, the latest slate of games drew little chaos, although there’s still movement in the Lemon City Live Watchlist. Those in favor of order witnessed a weekend of matchups where the higher-ranked teams took care of business. The notable exception was Memphis rallying to defeat the South Florida Bulls 34-31. If you’re a Canes fan, you were likely happy with SMU losing and shaking your head at coach Bill Belichick letting number 16 Virginia slip through his fingers 17-16 in overtime.

Regardless of chaos’s absence, we got ourselves a new challenger within the top five. Setting up the latest edition of the list was no easy task. For starters, two guys were on a bye week. As usual, I took into account individual performance and the strength of the opponent, which factored greatly in the new number one. Gunner Stockton became the odd man out, but he is by no means eliminated from the race. Let’s see our current contenders.

Marcel Reed

Previous Ranking: 4

Third-ranked Texas A&M’s 49-25 victory over No. 20 LSU saw Marcel Reed throw for 202 yards and rush for 108 yards, recording four touchdowns, spread evenly between the air and ground, while also throwing two interceptions. Some might argue that Ty Simpson should still be number one. Although Garrett Nussmeier regressed, LSU is a better team than South Carolina. Reed will have the following week off, accumulating 1,972 yards, 17 passing TDs, six rushing TDs, and six INTs.

Ty Simpson

Previous Ranking: 1

Bama’s signal caller produced 253 yards, a pair of touchdowns, and a lost fumble against the Gamecocks. Simpson didn’t have the best performance of the group. Ty will be off this weekend. He has 2,184 yards, 20 TDs, and one pick. It will be interesting to see how the Crimson Tide does afterward when they, too, take on LSU. After that, it’s Oklahoma, likely the last opportunity to make his case before the conference championships and postseason.

Fernando Mendoza

Previous Ranking: 2

Indiana expectedly demolished UCLA, as Fernando Mendoza had the weakest opponent of the group. Mendoza passed for 168 yards, three touchdowns, and a rushing TD. He did throw a pick. However, given the lopsided score, it was entirely irrelevant. Fernando’s fall to three isn’t a ding against him; it’s that Simpson and Reed’s performance was tough to ignore.

Julian Sayin

Previous Ranking: 3

Ohio State returns to action with a high noon game versus Penn State. Julian Sayin is deep in the hunt and more than capable of leapfrogging everyone on here. The sophomore has 1,872 yards, 19 touchdowns, and three interceptions for the year. Glancing at the remaining schedule, the Buckeyes might finish undefeated.

Trinidad Chambliss

Previous Ranking: NA

It’s about time. Trinidad Chambliss had been knocking on the door for a couple of weeks, and with Gunner Stockton on break, the Ole Miss QB has entered the top five. Chambliss racked up 315 yards and a TD in the 34-26 victory over No. 13 Oklahoma. He’s totaled 1,864 passing yards, nine TDs, and an interception. It may not seem much, but Trinidad also has five rushing touchdowns to pad his numbers. The fifth slot has been consistently the most vulnerable. Let’s see Chambliss’s staying power.
