MIAMI, FL –Β Scott Carr, the Director of Athletics, has named Flavia Siqueira as the next head coach for FIU Volleyball. Siqueira is coming to FIU with over two decades of experience and a track record of winning.

I am eager to get to work and build something special together.”
Previous Championship Experience
Flavia Siqueira is coming off two successful seasons at Georgia State, where she had back-to-back 17+ win seasons. This past season, the Panthers had their best record since joining the Sun Belt. They went 18-10 overall and 9-7 in conference play.
Previously, Siqueira spent five seasons at Auburn Montgomery, a D2 program, where she had four winning seasons. She set the program record for wins in 2023, posting a 24-9 record. The Warhawks were ranked as high as tenth in the NCAA South Region rankings. They earned their first victory against a ranked opponent, notching their first poll appearance.
In total, Flavia Siqueira notched an 81-59 record as head coach from 2019-2023 with three consecutive appearances in the Gulf South Conference postseason tournament. Her teams reached the semifinals in the last two seasons while she was coach.

This isn’t Siqueira’s first stop in Florida. She spent two seasons at Lynn University in Boca Raton from 2017 to 2018. Prior to coaching at Lynn, she had a 278-97 lifetime record in nine seasons while in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Siqueira was the first head coach at the College of Central Florida from 2011 to 2016. The Patriots had an overall record of 188-59 and 47-3 when playing Mid-Florida Conference teams. Their volleyball program won an FCSAA State Championship, earned two runner-up finishes, and won an NJCAA District P Championship. She was named the league’s Coach of the Year in all six of her seasons and won the MCF Championship for six consecutive years.
Early Playing and Coaching Days
Before helping create the volleyball program at CCF in Ocala, Siqueira spent three seasons from 2008 to 2010 at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming. She led the Trappers to a 90-38 record, winning a regional championship and getting a birth in the NJCAA National Tournament in 2009.
Her coaching career started in 2007 at the University of Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico. She has also coached Team Florida of USA Volleyball High Performance Girls Select volleyball club. They won five national titles in a row.
In her playing days, Flavia Sequeira took part in two top-four national titles at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff. She got All-Region and Academic All-American recognition.
Sequeira then went on to the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, leading her team to its first No. 10 ranking while being an NCAA Division II All-American. She finished her collegiate career as a three-time All-Conference and All-Region selection.
From 1997 to 1999, Sequeira represented Brazil in Confederation Volleyball for SΓ£o Paulo before coming to the United States.
She graduated from the University of Mary with a B.S. in physical education and a minor in coaching before earning a master’s degree in college teaching.
