Feeding South Florida with the Miami Dolphins, FOOTBALL UNITES™ and #DolphinsHuddlefor100!

Feeding South Florida

Miami Gardens, FL – Regardless of how you feel about the Miami Dolphins on the field, off the field they are always on point. Last week, Fins players Chandler Cox, Michael Deiter, Sam Eguavoen, Montre Hartage, Chris Myarick, Nik Needham, Durval Queiroz Neto, Andrew Van Ginkel and Preston Williams; along with some front office staff; FOOTBALL UNITESTM community partners; and Special Teams volunteers joined forces to put together a #DolphinsHuddlefor100 service project with Feeding South Florida.

During the event, 38,805 pounds of food was inspected, sorted, and packed, ready to provide for families in need in our community. The packed food was enough to serve 33,447 meals, which coincidentally equates to feeding the offensive linemen every week.

The Fins continue to put the community first as part of their ongoing #DolphinsHuddlefor100 service projects during the NFL’s 100th season celebration. In an effort to inspire 1 million people to volunteer 100 minutes of their time, the NFL is urging fans to volunteer by providing meaningful projects to improve their communities.

The Miami Dolphins’ initiative to level the playing field through the power of teamwork to inspire a healthier, more educated and united South Florida community is something that in which various members of the organization take pride.

Miami Dolphins guard, Michael Deiter said, “It is awesome to be a part of a team that is so involved in the community. It is our duty as a football player and member of the community to volunteer.”

Sari Vatsake, Executive Vice President of Feeding South Florida, expresses her gratitude, saying, “The Dolphins organization continues to do wonderful things for the community and Feeding South Florida couldn’t be happier to continue its partnership with the team. Between the FOOTBALL UNITES™ and the Dolphins Huddle for 100 initiatives, the Dolphins are helping support over 700,000 food insecure individuals throughout South Florida.”
