MIAMI, FL – It’s a Monday Night Football clash between two 0-3 teams in the Jets and Dolphins. Considering how their seasons have gone, it’s far from being the most exciting prime-time game, and yet here we are. A win here for either team is crucial for either side to show some glimpse of hope. With that, here are the must-see players and factors to watch for in this week 4 matchup between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.
Players to Watch
Justin Fields
Fields will be playing in this game. He had been sidelined since his week 2 concussion against the Jets. Justin Fields did great in week 1, completing 16-of-22 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown. Without him, the Jets essentially have little to no offense. His presence on the field though, can be game-changing.
Reminder – Justin Fields has played one career game against the Dolphins.
178 Rushing Yards 🤯
123 Passing Yards
3 Passing Touchdowns
1 Rushing TouchdownIt was an NFL record for rushing yards by a QB.

Garrett Wilson
Wilson has been the most present player on the Jets’ offense. He has 21 receptions for 229 yards and a pair of touchdowns this season. It wouldn’t be surprising if he eclipsed the century mark in receiving yards for the first time this season.
Still can't believe Justin Fields made this throw… insane ball placement. Excited to see more of this to Garrett Wilson.pic.twitter.com/LkO4tPNza3

Brandon Stephens
Stephens will be matching up with Jaylen Waddle for the majority of the football game. He must definitely be watched as Waddle has been off to a slow start and is poised for a big game. The cornerback is searching for his first interception in two seasons.

Ollie Gordon II
People have now been able to see Gordon II on the team’s offense and see how he fits in. He had nine carries for 38 yards and a touchdown in his last outing against the Bills. He is adept at running the ball through the middle, which can cause some disruption to the Jets’ defense if he is effective.

Darren Wallen
Wallen will finally get to play in an NFL stadium for the first time since 2023. He will be rusty but will still be counted on to add some production to the tight end position for the Dolphins. Expect him to be used as a receiver, and with his height, he can certainly win some battles against opposing DBs.
🎥 Darren Waller on what he can bring to the team: “Just a guy that can lineup in different spots and take advantage of the middle of the field. Just running routes everywhere, I’m comfortable.” (@MiamiDolphins) #PhinsUp pic.twitter.com/kCVyL5ThXQ

Jaelan Phillips
Phillips stepped up his game last week, contributing to five of the team’s 11 pressures. New York has young players on their offensive line, and his experience should be enough to help him make some big stops. His main objective in this game will be to stop Justin Fields from having success with his dual-threat abilities.

The Outcome
The Dolphins have just two cornerbacks out for now in Storm Duck and Jason Marshall Jr. The Jets have Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and Jermaine Johnson II on the injured list.
Aside from Ethan Bonner on Dolphins’ final injury report before MNF against Jets, Storm Duck, Jason Marshall OUT. Not many injuries, but all to cornerbacks.

Since game 1 of the season, the Dolphins have shown improvement. They will eventually earn their first win of the season, and Miami should have every bit of confidence to walk out of this game with a win. The fact that they are winless should motivate them to outplay the Jets and not dig themselves into a deeper hole. The Jets will fight on both sides of the ball, and this game will ultimately come down to which team is hungrier for their first victory of 2025.
The Dolphins have won their last nine home matchups against the Jets. Meanwhile, the Jets are on a 13-game losing streak against AFC East opponents. I expect both teams’ offenses to really come alive in this game. Both the Dolphins and Jets have some holes on defense, meaning we could see some back-and-forth scoring here. These are two teams that have given up over 29 points in each of their games. I don’t see that changing this game either.
Jets: 30
Dolphins: 34
