MIAMI, FL – This Saturday, it’s senior day at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center for FIU Men’s Basketball. Hamed Olayinka, Corey Stephenson, Zawdie Jackson, Julian Mackey, Brit Harris, Kennedy Brown, and Renato Ruiz will be representing the Panthers as they host Senior Day in their regular-season finale against Western Kentucky.
Hamed Olayinka
The 6’9 forward from Los Angeles has started in all 29 games for the Panthers this season. He’s leading all starters with a 56.2 field goal %, is first on the team in blocks with 1.5 per game and is second in rebounds with 6.5. This season, Hamed Olayinka has put up a couple of double-double performances that have stood out.
In the season opener against Florida National (11/3), he put up a career-high of 25 points on 10/13 shooting and four steals with 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Hamed Olayinka is just the eighth NCAA player since 2005-06 to record 25 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 blocks in a game.

His best defensive game of the season came against Louisiana Tech (2/14), where he grabbed career-highs of 17 boards while blocking five shots. Totaling 34 minutes, he scored 11 points and dished out three assists.

Corey Stephenson
The senior guard out of Bessemer, Alabama, has made 28 starts for the Panthers. Stephenson currently leads the team with 31.0 minutes per game, 18.0 points per game, and a 41.6 field goal % from downtown amongst starters. Day in and day out, Corey Stephenson has continued to lead the way for FIU in scoring.
His best double-double game of the season came against New Mexico State (1/24), where he scored 25 points on 10/12 shooting from the charity stripe and grabbed a season high of 12 rebounds.

He scored his most points in a road contest against Middle Tennessee (2/4). In the overtime victory, he scored 34 points on 59% shooting, and he grabbed nine rebounds.

Zawdie Jackson
The 6’1 guard out of Stone Mountain, Georgia, has started in 28 games this season. Jackson leads the Panthers with 3.1 assists per game, an 86.5 free throw % and averages the lowest number of turnovers per game amongst starters with 1.3. Zawdie Jackson is tied for second in Conference USA with a 2.4 assist/turnover ratio.
Tonight against FGCU was Zawdie Jackson’s 46th career 20-point game.

Against LA Tech (2/14), he scored 20 points on 50% shooting, grabbed three rebounds, dished out five assists, and contributed with three steals.

He also scored 20 points against FGCU (12/3) on 10/11 shooting at the free throw line, recording a pair of rebounds and steals.
Julian Mackey
The 6’2 guard from Grayson, Georgia, has made six starts in 27 appearances. He leads all reserves with 22.1 minutes per game and is second in scoring with 12.2 points per game. Julian Mackey has two of his most complete games of the season on home turf.
Against Long Island (12/20), he scored 22 points on 8/12 shooting, while getting three rebounds and two assists in the victory.

Brit Harris
The 6’5 guard hailing from Gary, Indiana, has appeared in all 29 games for FIU. He leads the bench with 1.1 steals per game and is second amongst role players with a 63.6 free-throw percentage.
For Brit Harris, his best game on offense came against Omaha (11/26), where he scored 24 points on 56% shooting with two rebounds and three steals in 27 minutes.

Kennedy Brown
The 6’8 forward from Chicago has made 19 appearances this season from the bench. He’s averaging 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per game.
Renato Ruiz
The 6’1 senior from Plantation is wrapping up his third season at FIU. He’s averaging 3.6 minutes with a 75% shooting percentage in seven games; his most games played in a season.
