MIAMI, FL – The NBA announced today that Miami HEAT guard Norman Powell has been selected to participate in the Three-Point Contest at the 2026 NBA All-Star Saturday Night event on February 14. It marks the 10th different Miami player and 15th time overall a HEAT player will participate in the event, joining Tyler Herro (2025 & 2023), Duncan Robinson (2020), Wayne Ellington (2018), James Jones (2012 & 2011), Mario Chalmers (2012), Daequan Cook (2010 & 2009), Jason Kapono (2007), Glen Rice (1995 & 1991) and Jon Sundvold (1990 & 1989). Additionally, five different HEAT players (Herro 2025, Jones 2011, Cook 2009, Kapono 2007 and Rice 1995) have won the event, the most by any team in NBA history.

Powell, who was named to the 2026 NBA All-Star Team, has started in all 44 games he has appeared in this season entering today’s game averaging a team-leading and career-high 23.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.23 steals and 30.8 minutes while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 39.3 percent from three-point range and 84.6 percent from the foul line. He leads the team in points, field goals made, three-point field goals made, free throws made, double-figure scoring games, 20-point games and 30-point games, helping Miami average 119.5 points per game, the fifth-highest average in the NBA. Powell connected on a three-point field goal in 24-straight games from March 16 of last year through November 14 of this season, marking the third-longest streak of his career. Additionally, he tied his career-high of eight made three-point field goals on November 14 at New York before breaking his record with nine made from downtown on January 4 vs. New Orleans.

The HEAT will be represented in each day of All-Star Weekend with Kel’el Ware in the Rising Stars event Friday, Keshad Johnson in the Slam Dunk Contest & Powell in the Three-Point Contest Saturday and Powell again in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, marking the seventh consecutive season multiple members of the HEAT have been selected to participate during NBA All-Star Weekend. Additionally, HEAT two-way player Jahmir Young has been selected to participate in the G League Three-Point Contest on Saturday and the G League Next Up Game on Sunday.
