MIAMI, FL – The Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed guard Gabe Madsen and waived Trevor Keels. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Madsen, who was originally signed by the HEAT on September 11 and waived on September 25, played four seasons at the University of Utah and concluded his collegiate career as the school’s all-time leader in three-point field goals made. He became the first player in program history to record at least 100 made three-point field goals in consecutive seasons. Last season, he started in all 33 games he appeared in with the Utes and averaged a team-high 15.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, a team-best 1.00 steals and 29.6 minutes. He led the team in points, steals, field goals made and three-point field goals made. Additionally, he posted 10 20-point games, including a season-high 28 points on two occasions, and recorded nine multi-steal games.

Keels, who was originally signed by the HEAT on September 11, appeared in two preseason games with Miami and averaged 6.0 points, 2.0 assists, 1.5 rebounds, 1.00 steals and 22.6 minutes while shooting 4-of-12 from the field, 2-of-6 from three-point range and 2-of-2 from the line.
