PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – Andres Valor hit a go-ahead two-run home run for the Jupiter Hammerheads, while Marlins prospect PJ Morlando had two hits. Johnson hit a leadoff home run to start the game on a bang. The second baseman crushed a ball into deep right-center on a 2-2 count.

He wasn’t done yet, as in his second at-bat, he hit another solo home run to make it 2-0. The 2nd round pick out of the 2024 MLB Draft has started to show some progress early on this season.

Marlins Prospects Make Impact

Marlins #26 prospect, Morlando, made strides in the game, going 2/4 with a double. His slash line reads .202/.353/.321, and he has 18 runs, 22 hits, four doubles, three homers, and 15 RBI in 109 at-bats.
The #22 prospect, Esmil Valencia, had a bases-loaded RBI walk for Jupiter’s fifth and final run. He recently returned from injury and has only played in seven games so far in Single-A ball.

Pitchers Keep Mets in Check
