FIU Transfer Portal Tracker

SportswithSeb

The NCAA Basketball transfer portal officially opened this past Tuesday. With the FIU Panthers going a different direction, they hired new head coach Joey Cantens to take over the program. As expected, several players on the roster who were recruited by former head coach Jeremy Ballard decided to seek other opportunities. With that, here is the ongoing FIU Men’s Basketball transfer portal tracker in this collaborative article by Sebastian Clavijo and me.

Incoming Players:

Noah Mendy, Daytona State

Head coach Joey Cantens and his staff continue to be active in the transfer portal, adding a familiar face from his old program, Noah Mendy. Mendy, a transfer from Daytona State, was the sixth-best JUCO prospect available. The junior from France averaged 17.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. He shot 48.1% from the field and 32.6% from beyond the arc. He had played for Cantens at Daytona State during the last two years.

Andreas Holst, Oklahoma

A 7-foot PF, Holst has committed to play for FIU. Following the departure of more than half of their roster, FIU needed to fill some holes, especially down low. The Oklahoma transfer did not suit up last season for the Sooners, but that will change once the season is underway for the Panthers. The incoming sophomore will make an immediate impact for the Panthers who currently have three players on their active roster. (Not counting any incoming transfer)

Trey Beamer – IMG Academy

Trey Beamer, a four-star 6’1 point guard from Bradenton, and the number 93-ranked player from the 2026 class, is the highest recruit in FIU Men’s Basketball history. He has sensational experience on Nike’s EYBL with Team United, averaging a 39% FG, 30% 3PT, and 2.7 assists per game. Beamer committed to FIU because he expects to get considerable playing time, and he knows he will have the ball in his hands from day one.

CJ Hall – Daytona State

CJ Hall will enter his sophomore season with some familiar faces from his old Daytona State team. Teaming up with Head Coach Joey Cantens and teammate Noah Mendy in the 305. Hall averaged 8.5 points per game, shooting 43% from the floor and 33% from behind the arc. Appearing in all of the Falcons 35 games this past season and familiarity with the talent being brought in, he could make his way into the starting lineup.

Ramone Seals – Kennesaw State

Seals is a 6’6 junior forward who is transferring from Kennesaw State. He averaged 7.6 points and 4.2 rebounds on 42.6 FG% and 32.8 3P% in 22 contests. Ramone Seals had 12 assists, 10 blocks, and 11 steals on the season. Seals had an impressive season while at SLAM! Tampa, where he was recognized as the 2022 Florida 2A District 9 Player of the Year. He also earned a spot on the 2022 Florida 2A All-Tournament First Team.

Seydina N’Diaye – Daytona State

N’Diaye is another player with ties to Coach Cantens. Last season for the Falcons, he averaged 6.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks on 58.6% shooting. The long, mobile 6’11 forward is known for being fluid, athletic, and able to defend in space. N’Diaye can impact shots at the rim and change shots with ease. Seydina N’Diaye has been developing his face-up game and showing flashes of shooting touch.

Corey Caulker – East Carolina

Caulker started in 26 of his 31 games this past season, averaging 7.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He made 33.2% of his field goal attempts and 32.5% of his shots from behind the arc. In 2024-25, he was a star at Eastern Florida State College, where he averaged 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per contest. Corey Caulker made 41.8% of his shots and was 35.6% from downtown.

Jaylin Payne – Longwood

The 6’8 forward has a notable interior presence. Prior to Longwood in 2025-26, Payne previously played for Daytona State College, where he averaged 9.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest. He started in all 32 games and shot for 68.3% from the floor. Jaylin Payne scored in double figures 11 times and had a pair of double-doubles. His team reached the NJCAA Quarterfinals that season.

Jalan Wingfield – Tri Cities

As if one true freshman four-star recruit wasn’t enough, FIU is getting itself another in Jalan Wingfield. He is a 6’7 small forward who can create offense, compete around the rim, block shots, and defend at a soaring level. While in high school, Wingfield was once the MVP on his team and led them to a state championship. He averaged 14.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks as a senior last season. His physicality, footwork, solid hands, and touch show flashes of potential.

Mason Blazer – Florida Southwestern

The 6’6 guard played in 31 games last season, averaging 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. He made 49.2% of his shots from the floor and was 42.1% in three-point shooting. Before joining FSW, he played for St. Petersburg College during the 2024-25 season, where he averaged 16.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 32 contests. Mason Blazer converted on 44.7% of his shot attempts and connected on 34.8% of his shots from behind the arc. As a result of his performance, Blazer earned 1st Team All-Conference and All-FCSAA honors while at the school.

Huascar Cuevas Lozano – Wagner

Cuevas comes from Wagner, where he made five appearances last season. Prior to that, he played under Coach Cantens at Daytona State. As a Falcon, Cuevas was named All-Citrus Conference Second Team and NJCAA Region 8 All-Tournament Team in 2024-25 as a sophomore. He averaged 8.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 31 games while shooting 48.1% from the field and 41.4% from three-point range. Huascar Cuevas is from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and has represented his country at the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup in 2021.

Outgoing Players:

Eric Dibami – University of California, Santa Barbara

The 3-star transfer PF Eric Dibami has committed to UCSB. The Sand Sharks were looking to add some depth at the forward position with two of their forwards from last year entering the portal this offseason. Adding a C-USA All-Freshman and All-Defense Team winner to their roster, UCSB has significantly improved their roster thus far.

Dibami averaged 9.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game during the 2025-26 season. He earned Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors three times. In FIU freshman history, Dibami finished third in double-doubles with a team-leading eight. He also ranked third in rebounds, fourth in blocks, steals, and assists, and seventh in games played.

Ashton Williamson

Ashton Williamson enters the transfer portal for the second time in his career. Last season, he declared his intentions to transfer but then returned to FIU. The dynamic guard started in 25/26 games as a sophomore for FIU this season. He averaged 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, which was second on the team. Williamson had 11 double-doubles this past season.

Ibrahim Olajuwon

Red shirt senior Ibrahim Olajuwon appeared in all 32 games for the Panthers this season, one of four players to have done so. He led the team in shooting throughout the season with a 55.8 FG% and finished third with 22 blocks. Aibo averaged 4.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Aydan Clinton

Aydan Clinton made two appearances this season, against Trinity College of Jacksonville (December 22) and Western Kentucky (March 7). He made his only field goal attempt in the season finale against the Hilltoppers. Against Trinity, he made a free throw and grabbed a rebound. Clinton was on the FIU Football roster as a defensive lineman.

Thiago Sucatzky

Thiago Sucatzky will be taking his talents to Stetson University after entering the transfer portal this offseason. Finishing a solid year coming off the bench, Thiago will look for a bigger role with his new squad. A 5-10 guard who adds hustle and competitiveness to the Hatter roster.

Thiago Sucatzky was another Panther who appeared in every game this season, averaging 3.6 points and 2.3 assists per game. He finished second in program history in games played by a freshman with 32 and fourth in assists with 74. Sucatzky ranked 21st in Conference USA in both of these assist categories. He had two games with at least 10 points and seven with at least 3 assists.
