MIAMI, FL – The NBA announced today that Miami HEAT center/forward Bam Adebayo was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 9 through Sunday, March 15. For Adebayo, it marks his second of the season and the fourth of his career. It also marks the 65th time in franchise history a member of the HEAT has earned Player of the Week honors, including the 10th time a Miami player has won the award in consecutive weeks after Tyler Herro also accomplished the feat last week.

Adebayo helped lead Miami to a 2-1 record for the week after averaging 41.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.33 steals, 2.0 assists, 1.33 blocks and a total +29 plus/minus which included a franchise-record 83-point game on March 10, the second-most points during a single game in NBA history. He scored at least 20 points in each contest and recorded multiple steals and blocks two times each.

Adebayo led off the week with his 83-point record-setting game on March 10 vs. Washington after scoring a team-record 31 points in the first quarter, followed by a HEAT record 43 points in the first half, which also surpassed his single game career high of 41 points. He then surpassed the franchise record of 61 points set by LeBron James with a dunk in the third quarter. He capped the game with a 21-point fourth quarter, scoring his 70th point at the 9:05 mark and tallying his 83rd point with 1:16 remaining before being subbed out shortly after. He also added nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in the contest. In his next game on March 12 vs. Milwaukee, he recorded 21 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal. In the final game of the week, he posted 20 points, seven rebounds, four steals, two blocks and an assist vs. Orlando on March 14. Additionally, Adebayo connected on his 10,000th career point on March 8, becoming just the second HEAT player to accomplish the feat, joining only Dwyane Wade.
