Tyler Herro Player Week

Miami HEAT

MIAMI, FL – The NBA announced today that Miami HEAT guard Tyler Herro was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8. This marks Herro’s second career Player of the Week award and the 63rd overall time a member of the HEAT has earned Player of the Week honors.

Herro helped lead Miami to a perfect 4-0 record for the week, increasing their current win streak to six games, after averaging 26.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists while shooting 53.7 percent from the field, 51.7 percent from three-point range and 94.7 percent from the foul line. He was the only player in the entire NBA to post at least those averages and shoot those percentages for the week. He recorded a +51 plus/minus and also led the HEAT in scoring three times, tallying at least 22 points in all four games, including three games with at least 25 points and one 30-point performance.

Herro led off the week recording 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block in a 26-point, 124-98, win vs. Brooklyn on March 3. He then scored a team-high 25 points with five assists and four rebounds on March 5 in a 16-point, 126-110, victory vs. Brooklyn. On the second night of a back-to-back in Charlotte, Herro helped Miami snap the Hornets six-game win streak after posting a game-high 33 points, a game-high nine assists and nine rebounds with zero turnovers in the HEAT’s, 128-120, road win. In the final game of the week against the number one seeded Detroit Pistons, Herro scored a team-high 25 points with six rebounds, three assists and a game-high +18 plus/minus.

Since returning from injury on February 20, Herro has helped lead Miami to a 7-2 (.778) record. Additionally, he connected on his 1,000th career three-point field goal on January 6, becoming just the second player in team history to accomplish the feat as a member of the HEAT while also becoming the sixth-fastest player in NBA history to do so at just 368 games.
