Bobcat Field, Miami – The Miami FC 2 finished up its 2018 NPSL Regular Season on Saturday night, coming out on top 5-0 against Boca Raton FC. With the victory, the Orange and Blue clinched first place in the Sunshine Conference and the top seed in the conference playoffs.
Miami began the match on the offensive, threatening Boca’s goal in the sixth minute when Dylan Mares let a rocket fly from outside of the box that needed to be saved well by Boca’s goalkeeper.
Just two minutes later, the Orange and Blue opened the scoring. Don Smart laced a pass across the box that Darío Suárez struck with his first touch and curled off the far post and into the back of the net.
Miami wasted no time doubling its lead, taking advantage of a corner kick for its second goal of the match. Ariel Martínez let go of an inswinging cross that Kris Tyrpak redirected with his head into the path of Rhett Bernstein, who buried his shot from point-blank range into the goal.
In the 39th minute, Suárez earned a brace with a well-hit strike from close range following a corner kick that rattled around the box.
Four minutes later, the Orange and Blue netted its fourth tally of the match. Smart whipped in a cross from the right wing that Jaime Chávez controlled with ease and powered past the goalkeeper to score for the second-consecutive match.
At the half, @TheMiamiFC leads @BocaRatonFC 4-0, thanks in part to this crack from #SuperDario Suarez! #WeLoveYa #VamosMiami pic.twitter.com/sKqRewZN4o

The four goals scored represented the highest number of goals scored by Miami in the first half of any match this season.
Miami was dealt a tough hand to start the second half, as Chávez was sent off in the 47th minute after a harsh tackle.
But the Orange and Blue didn’t rest on its Laurels or Yannis, playing splendidly with 10 men for the duration of the second half.
Miami put an exclamation point on the match in the 81st minute with a stupendous counter-attack to put the match to rest.
Coy Craft lifted a short pass over a defender and into Tomas Greco‘s path, allowing Greco to look up and guide a precise, defense-splitting through ball to Martínez, who was wide open behind the defense. Martínez latched on to the ball, dribbled straight at goal and chipped his finish over the onrushing goalkeeper.
Don’t wanna jinx anything here at bobcat field, but @TheMiamiFC is holding on to a tight 5-0 lead over @BocaRatonFC. Let’s see if they can maintain in the final 5 minutes… #WeLoveYa #VamosMiami #MajorLeague pic.twitter.com/UePrQ5MSWR
