MIAMI, FL – FIU Men’s Soccer has announced the signings of several new players this week. Here’s who head coach Kyle Russell and his staff have recruited to play in the 305.
Florian Grollmann
Grollmann is a 6’4 goalkeeper from Recklinghausen, Germany.
Some of the institutions he’s played for include the University of Memphis, the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California, and MidAmerica Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas.
The junior is a communications and media technologies major.
Florian Grollmann attended high school at Westfälische Hochschule Gelsenkirchen. Some of the clubs that he played for in his home country include Westfalenliga 2 and U 17-Bundesliga West.

Pasquale Capriati
Capriati is a 6’4 winger from Altamura, Italy. He has previously played for AC Milan and Lykos.

Alejandro Nasato
Nasato is a 6’1 forward from Miami. He played at Marshall University last season and has also played for clubs such as Queensboro FC II (2022), Orlando City U17 (2021-2022), and Weston U16/17 (2019-2021).

Joshua Saavedra
Saavedra is a 5’8 midfielder from Miramar, Florida. He began playing NCAA soccer in 2023 with the LIU Sharks. As a freshman at Long Island, he scored seven goals in 18 appearances.
He was named a Freshman All-American by Top Drawer Soccer and the Northeast Conference Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year.
As a sophomore in 2024, he was ranked 67th in the nation among D1 soccer college players in Top Drawer Soccer’s preseason Top 100.
Saavedra graduated from the Orlando-based Florida Virtual School in 2023. In his senior career, he played for Fort Lauderdale CF from 2020 to 2021 and Queensboro FC in 2022.
The Colombian-American played for the Miami Stars SC in 2019 and for the Inter Miami CF academy from 2019 to 2020.

Tibo Gobet
Gobet is a 6’5 defender from Nice, France. Most recently, he played for Florida Memorial University in 2023 and 2024.
He made the First Team All-Sun last year and also played 15 matches in 1,262 minutes. The defender also used to play for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
In 2022, he was just one of four players on the team to appear in all 17 games. He started in 16 of them, and his 1,304 minutes of action were the second-most by any player on the team.
He got his start at the collegiate level while playing for Morton College in Cicero, Illinois. Tibo Gobet spent two seasons there and was an important part of their defensive unit.
He posted two assists while starting all 17 games in 2021. As a freshman, Gobet was named a National Junior College Athletic Association Second Team All-American, which led the Panthers to the NJCAA Division 2 nationals and a Region 4 championship.
He started all 13 games (the team went 10-3-0) and scored three goals, while the defense recorded a 0.76 goals-against average.
Gobet played high school soccer at Parc Imperial.

Emilio Maldonado Frei
Maldonado is a 6’2 midfielder from Switzerland. He has played for clubs such as Meyrin FC (2025), Lancy FC (2024-2025), US Terre Sainte (2023-2024), Xamax FCS U21 (2023), FC Stade Nyonnais (2022-2023).
Between Liga Classic Group and Swiss Cup games, Maldonado has netted four goals in 56 matches. He has played in a total of 2,742 minutes.

Leonardo Consoloni
Consoloni is a 6’2 midfielder from Lecco, Italy. Last season, he appeared in 13 matches for American International College, which is located in Springfield, Massachusetts.
He registered a goal and an assist in a game against Wilmington.
Consoloni has previously played for USD Brianza Olginatese and US Olginatese Giovanili.

Dominic Brady
Brady is a 5’7 midfielder from Glasgow, Scotland. He was a part of the Queen’s Park Academy for six years and had previously played for St. Mirren FC.
Brady was also a part of the SFA Performance School at Grange Academy, Kilmarnock. Most recently, he was playing soccer for St. Cadoc’s FC.
