SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that they have launched two new hockey programs: Adult ‘Learn to Play’ and ‘Learn to Skate.’
“We’re excited to introduce two new affordable hockey and skating programs to the South Florida community,” said Director of Community Relations John Colombo. “Registrations and interest is skyrocketing year over year and we hope these programs will give everyone an opportunity to try the game and create the next generation of hockey fans and players.”
The Panthers Adult ‘Learn to Play’ program is designed for participants aged 18 and older to experience the game of ice hockey at the beginner level. The cost of entry is $355, including a full set of hockey equipment for the participant to keep at the completion of the program and 12 weeks of on-ice training. Adult ‘Learn to Play’ sessions will take place at Florida Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs and Palm Beach Skate Zone in Lake Worth. To register, please visit FloridaPanthers.com/AdultLearnToPlay.
The Panthers ‘Learn to Skate’ is designed to teach ice skating to children ages 4-8 at the beginner level. The cost of entry is $105 and includes a pair of skates and eight weeks of on-ice training. ‘Learn to Skate’ sessions will take place at Florida Panthers IceDen (Coral Springs), Glacier Ice & Snow Arena (Pompano Beach), Palm Beach Skate Zone (Lake Worth) and Palm Beach Ice Works (West Palm Beach). In its third season, the Panthers ‘Learn to Play’ program, in conjunction with the NHL, the NHLPA, and USA Hockey, is for first-time hockey participants (boys & girls ages 5-9) who are first-time USA Hockey registrants. The cost of the program is $150 and each participant will receive six weeks of on-ice training with Panthers Alumni and USA Hockey Certified Coaches. Participants will receive a full set of custom fitted hockey equipment they will be able to keep at the completion of the program.
