BOCA RATON, FL – Friday will feature the first of three AAC games to close out the regular season for #14 FIU Panthers.

Standing in their way this weekend are the Florida Atlantic Owls, who currently find themselves with a 3-6-3 overall record and a 2-4 record amongst the conference.

The Owls’ top scorer this season has been forward Noah Kvifte with five goals along with starting 11 of the 12 matches this season. Following Kvifte is Victor Claudel who has four goals in the same amount of matches played.

All time, the Panthers are 14-2-1 against the Owls. Last season, when the Panthers took on the Owls in Miami, FIU came out with a 1-0 victory.

As the season winds down, the Panthers find themselves at the top of the AAC and look to become the regular season champions for the second straight year, and to also host the AAC tournament.

Simon Afrifa is coming off two straight games with a goal for the first time in his college career. Afrifa has become one of the stable pieces on the pitch for the Panthers and will be a name to keep an eye out for as we come down the stretch.

The duo of Eduardo Mustre and Bernardo Dos Santos Monteiro have combined for a total of 13 goals throughout the season. Mustre has started in all 13 games this season while Dos Santos Monteiro has started in 11.

This season, goalie Tyler Hogan has been one of the top goalkeepers in the AAC with 25 total saves. Hogan will be a big piece for this Panthers team as they enter the postseason.

FIU vs FAU will be aired on ESPN+ and kickoff is at 7pm from Boca Raton. For the first ever in Paws Up Podcast history, we’ll be in Boca for live coverage.
