This was a dominant season for West at-bat. He led the team in total hits with 72, with 23 games recording two or more hits. That’s the fifth-most hits in CUSA. This is an upgrade for West, who was in the second team all-conference last season.
Marks, meanwhile, had a breakout season on the mound. In 14 starts this season, he recorded 67 innings pitched and 72 strikeouts, the most out of any Panther and seventh in CUSA. He becomes the first FIU pitcher to appear on the first-team all-conference since 2019.
Second Team All Conference
Representing FIU in the second team is Kishon Frett, listed as an outfielder. Power was the name of the game for Frett, leading both FIU and CUSA in home runs with 20. He was also hit by 24 pitches, more than any other batter in the conference.
CUSA All Freshman Team
There are a pair of Panthers that were included in the Conference USA All-Freshman Team. Cole Cleveland was an important part of FIU’s batting order, while Andrew Ildefonso has done a bit of everything for FIU, including pitching, fielding, and batting.
Coming right out of Calvary Christian Academy, Cleveland recorded 37 hits and 30 runs batted in. He has solid power, with nine doubles and four home runs this season. Fielding-wise, he only committed one error this season.
Ildefonso redshirted in 2024 and became FIU’s primary designated hitter, batting .315 in 47 games with 37 RBIs and 10 doubles. He had his best game recently with four hits against Sam Houston on May 15th.
