MIAMI, FL – To open up the New Year, freshman guard Damarion Vann-Kelly has announced his commitment to FIU Men’s Basketball for the 2025-26 season on social media.
Vann-Kelly arrives at FIU after spending this current season with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, a JUCO school located in Miami… Oklahoma.
Despite only playing 13 games with NEO, he has put up sensational numbers, averaging over 20 points per game while collecting 19 steals, 28 rebounds, and 21 assists.
This includes a 39-point performance against the Coffeyville Red Ravens back in November 2024.
Vann-Kelly had received offers and interests from 30 total D1 schools, including UTSA, Central Michigan, San Jose State, Mississippi State, and Jacksonville State.
He’s received praise from many scouts across JUCO and D1, including Ersin Demir who noted “Damarion Vann-Kelly is the best scorer I’ve evaluated in the JUCO reigns this year.” and “FIU got themselves a true stud. Next Denver Jones?”
