MIAMI, FL – On Thursday, Conference USA released the 2024-25 conference schedules. The FIU Panthers will begin their conference slate on January 2nd at home against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

Last season, the Panthers dropped both games against MTSU. They will play them at home in January and then will take them on in Murfreesboro on March 8th – the final game of the season.

The Panthers went 1-1 against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers last season, with their win coming at home on Senior night thanks to Javaunte Hawkins. WKU will be FIU’s second conference opponent, with a home game on January 4th and a road trip to Bowling Green on March 6th.

Louisiana Tech is the class act of CUSA when it comes to basketball. The Panthers were blown out at home against the Bulldogs and then kept it closer on the road, but still dropped both games. The home game against LA Tech will be on January 9th, while the away game is on February 8th.

FIU ended last season with a 1-2 record against the Sam Houston State Bearkats, with the second loss coming in the second round of the CUSA tournament. The Panthers will travel to face them on January 11th and then will host the Bearkats on February 6th.

The Panthers defeated the New Mexico State Aggies on January 11th, but were unsuccessful on the road, losing by seven in the season finale. FIU will host the Aggies on January 16th and then head to Las Cruces on February 15th.

One of the most thrilling games of the 2023-24 season was at home against the UTEP Miners where they won by a final score of 72-68. Unfortunately, the Panthers fell to the Miners in El Paso, splitting the season series. Panthers will host UTEP on January 18th and the Miners will host FIU on February 13th.

The Panthers and the Liberty Flames split the season series 1-1, with FIU winning in Miami and then losing on the road. The Panthers will host Liberty on January 25th and then travel to Lynchburg, Virginia on February 22nd.

Last year, FIU finished with a 1-2 against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, losing both games in the regular season but defeating them in the first round of the CUSA tournament. FIU will host Jax State on January 30th and then travel to Jacksonville, Alabama on March 1st to face them on the road.

The newest team in Conference USA is the Kennesaw State Owls, who the Panthers faced in their non-conference schedule this past season, beating them by a final score of 91-84. FIU will host them on February 1st, then travel to Kennesaw, Georgia on February 27th.
