FIU MBB Forward Jonathan Aybar Expected To Return For C-USA Slate

MIAMI, FL – Per a source, the expectation is that FIU forward Jonathan Aybar will be back on Saturday for the Panthers’ first conference game of the season at Jacksonville State.

This season, Aybar has been dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out of three games. Despite the missed time, he is still averaging 7.7 points per game, 3.8 total rebounds, and 1.4 assists, and is shooting 57.4% from the field.

For Aybar, this has been a down year, but with the conference slate coming up, he should be 100% healthy which is exactly what FIU needs as they lack size when he is not on the court.

The Panthers junior is the first second-generation player. His dad, Ramon Aybar, spent three seasons with the Panthers from 1996-99.

FIU will tip off their first Conference USA game of the season on the road at Jacksonville State on Saturday, January 6th at 5pm. We will be live streaming a Paws Up Preview episode before the game to go over both FIU and Jax State.
