MIAMI, FL – The FIU Panthers were back in the cage for the first time since the regular season, but it didn’t last too long. Only 15 minutes in, the Spring Showcase was canceled due to almost a two-hour rain delay filled with lightning strikes.

During the rain delay, head coach Mike MacIntyre and the rest of the team had a dance battle which Coach Mac (reportedly) ended up winning. “We had different guys doing it (the dance-off) and they wanted me to get in it and I probably looked like an idiot but we had fun.”
Last season coach Mac went with three quarterbacks – Carlson, Holmberg, and James. With Amari Jones (achilles) now out for the season, coach told the media that they are looking at all options. “We’re looking at all that,” said MacIntyre. “We have some walk-on guys that we had coming in and we’re gonna see if they’re ready, or if there are other guys out there that are available.”
Coach was asked the same question, but with the offensive line which saw Lyndell Hudson Jr. and Shamar Hoby-Lee enter the transfer portal, so they are down two offensive linemen. “We are looking at bringing in some more offensive linemen. We are diligently working on that and looking at bringing in some more offensive line,” said Coach MacIntyre.
From what we did see on the field for 15 minutes, there were a lot of special teams drills taking place, quarterbacks going through ball security drills, and the running backs working on blocking drills.
A nice thing to see was the recruits that showed up today. “There was a really good turnout early, I mean, a really good turnout. So I was excited about that and the kids were too.”
