After dropping their season opener, a trip to DeLand couldn’t fix their woes as FIU Men’s Soccer fell to the Stetson Hatters by a score of 1-0.
17 shots by FIU couldn’t secure a single goal on the night, while the Hatters nailed in a shot in the 69th minute of the game.
Nigel Van Heveren, the reigning AAC Defender Of The Week, had four saves on the night.
The Panthers now stand with a 0-2 record to begin 2024 – the first time since 2019 when they lost to FGCU and Jacksonville State.
FIU will be put to the test once again as they prepare for a tough two-game road trip.
They’ll start with a trip to Chapel Hill to take on the #17 North Carolina Tar Heels on Thursday, August 29th at 7:30pm.
