MIAMI, FL – FIU Softball has announced the additions of Daley Alsobrook and Cayce Kavakich. FIU continues to add young freshmen talent right as the school year draws near. Alsobrook is a health and human sciences major from Auburn, Alabama, and Kavakich is from Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

Middle Infield Strength From Bama

Alsobrook graduated from Auburn High School this year as a sensational middle infielder and as a multi-sport athlete. She was part of the All-Area Softball Team from 2023 to 2025. In her high school career, Daley Alsobrook batted .450, had a 1.260 OPS, hit six home runs, and 20 doubles. She was a star on her softball club, Beehive Varsity Premier, where she was team MVP in 2023 and 2024.

In basketball, Daley Alsobrook earned All-Area honors from 2022 to 2024 and was named Basketball All-Area MVP in 2024. She was a member of the 2023 Regional Basketball Team and the 2022 All-Area Flag Football Team. Alsobrook played AAU basketball with the Alabama Southern Starz, earning Tournament MVP honors at the 2023 USSSA A Class National Championship.

Right-Handed Jersey Girl With Versatility

Kavakich graduated from Cedar Grove High School this past spring. She’s a versatile right-handed pitcher and outfielder. Four times, Kavakich was named First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-Group. Three times, she was named First-Team All-State and Group 1 State Champion.

In her senior season, Cayce Kavakich scored 37 runs with 14 doubles and 25 RBI. As a junior, she had a .486 average, a .738 slugging percentage, and seven triples. In 2023, Kavakich hit .505, scored 38 runs, and drove in 31 runs. As a freshman in 2022, she slugged .840, hit five home runs, and stole 19 bases.

Cayce Kavakich helped lead her team to an Essex County Championship and SEC American League Championship. Ranked #25 in New Jersey, she had an impressive record of 1,000 strikeouts. Kavakich became the 24th player in state history to record that achievement.
