Coral Gables, FL – It was Senior Day for the Miami Hurricanes. Seven players were honored before the game: Jasmyne Roberts, Darrione Rogers, Haley Cavinder, Hanna Cavinder, Natalija Marshall, Cameron Williams, and Sophia Zulich. The game slipped away from them early on and they were trailing for the most part. However, the team’s seniors/graduate students stepped up and played as a collective unit. The Cardiac Canes were able to successfully deliver a strong performance in the 4th quarter to get a big Senior Day win over Wake Forest 62-60.
Cameron Williams, let her cook
Cameron Williams made her last game at the Watsco Center a special one. She scored a career-high 23 points on 9-10 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds. It was her second consecutive game with a double-double.
Coach Cullop referred to her performance as “exceptional”, saying
“I was really, really proud of her that she not only sealed well, and it wasn’t easy moves. It wasn’t just a turnaround most of the time. It was an up and under, a dribble spin.”

The shot heard round the world
The shot of the game goes to Darrione Rogers. Her corner 3-pointer was the game winner. Rogers was clutch off the bench, scoring nine points on 3-4 shooting from beyond the arc. She also grabbed seven rebounds.
Tricia Cullop remarked on her game winning shot, saying
“Darrione not only did a really good job defensively in the half court, but her three was monumental for us at a time where we could not find a basket.”
