MIAMI, FL – The Panthers wrapped up a three-game homestand on Saturday against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders who they saw on January 27th, where they lost to a final score, 79-61.
Despite a close contest all the way through, the Blue Raiders won the season series by a final score of 68-66 on Saturday.
After sitting out the last game due to a coach’s decision, Arturo Dean showed up and showed out for FIU dropping 14 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and per usual, two steals. Dean scored eight in the first half of action and then six in the second.
Petar Krivokapic, who has been struggling all season seems to be finally getting it going again as he has his second back-to-back double-digit scoring game of the season as he finishes with 12 points, one rebound, one assist, and going two for seven from behind the arc.
As close as it was, FIU took a strong ten-point lead but they weren’t able to hold onto the lead enough as MTSU outscored them 29-19 with 2:55 left in the second half.
For the Blue Raiders, Elias King led the way with 18 points, nine rebounds, and one assist, and was 6-11 from the field. Along with King, Jared Coleman-Jones followed him up with 13 points, making the last four shots to set themselves up for the win.
The Panthers are back at it on Thursday, February 15th as they go on the road to take on the Sam Houston State Bearkats. The game will tip-off at 7:30pm and can be streamed on ESPN+.
