Miami, FL – At the beginning of the month, the Miami Dolphins officially announced open registration for Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC) XIV.
This is an annual fundraiser in which the proceeds go towards cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, a part of UHealth – the University of Miami Health System.
The official date for DCC XIV is set for Saturday, February 14th of next year. This event has been run every year since it was founded in 2010 by the Dolphins.
Earlier this year in February, the 13th running of the event shattered records, with 5,641 participants hitting the streets on their bikes, raising more than $10 million towards cancer research. The total contribution since the DCC’s inception now stands at $64 million.
“This year is a memorable one for us here at the Miami Dolphins, as we saw the community and our partners come together for the unified purpose of raising yet another record-breaking contribution of over $10.5M in the fight against cancer. These funds are going directly into the South Florida community through Sylvester’s efforts to thrive as a lifesaving cancer center,” said Javiar Sanchez, the Executive Director of DCC. “Reflecting on the success of this past year, we are excited to see what we are able to accomplish for DCC XIV at Hard Rock Stadium on February 24, 2024.”
Participants can expect some upcoming changes to the event in February, as there will be multiple ride distances which all correlate to the name and number of Dolphins players who are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
