MIAMI, FL – The Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed guard Bez Mbeng and waived Steve Settle III. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mbeng, who was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year three times, played all four seasons at Yale University appearing in 120 career games (109 starts) and finished with 195 steals, the most in school history. He started all 29 games he appeared in as a senior last season and averaged 13.0 points, 5.8 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 1.79 steals and 32.8 minutes while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from three-point range. He was named the 2024-25 Ivy League Player of the Year and was selected to the All-Ivy First Team. He led the team in assists, steals and minutes and scored in double-figures 23 times, including three 20-point games. He also recorded 14 multi-steal games and posted three triple-doubles. Additionally, Mbeng appeared in two Summer League games with the Golden State Warriors.

Mbeng will wear number 19.

Settle III was originally signed on October 14.
