Miami, FL – The Miami HEAT announced today that they have re-signed guard Davion Mitchell. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mitchell, who was acquired by Miami in a trade on February 6, split last season between the HEAT and Toronto Raptors. He appeared in 74 total regular season games (37 starts) and averaged 7.9 points, 4.9 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 27.4 minutes while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from three-point range. He set single season career highs in assists, steals, rebounds, starts, free throws made, field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage. Davion also scored in double-figures 30 times, including three 20-point games, and recorded two double-figure assist games.

After being acquired by Miami, Mitchell appeared in 30 games (15 starts) with the HEAT and increased his averages in many statistical categories, including scoring average (10.3), assists per game (5.3), rebounds per game (2.7), steals per game (1.37), field goal percentage (.504), three-point field goal percentage (.447) and free throw percentage (.702).

He shot a perfect 7-of-7 from three-point range over two consecutive games on February 26 vs. Atlanta and February 28 vs. Indiana, tying the most made treys without a miss over any two-game span in HEAT history. He also grabbed a career-high nine rebounds on March 14 and tied his career highs of five made three-point field goals on February 26 and six made free throws on March 17.

Additionally, in the Play-In Tournament game vs. Atlanta on April 18, Mitchell scored 16 points, including nine in overtime, to help Miami capture a win and their sixth consecutive playoff berth.
