Miami, FL β The Miami HEAT announced today that they have acquired guard Norman Powell from the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team trade in which Kyle Anderson, Kevin Love and a Clippers 2027 second round pick go to the Utah Jazz and John Collins joins the Clippers.
Powell, a 10-year veteran and 2019 NBA Champion, started all 60 games he appeared in with the Clippers last season and averaged a career-high 21.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.22 steals and 32.6 minutes while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 41.8 percent from three-point range and 80.4 percent from the foul line. He was the only player in the entire NBA to record at least 20 points and 1.2 steals while shooting his percentages from the field. He also finished second in the NBA in fourth quarter three-point field goal percentage (.494) with a minimum of 80 attempts and set single-season career highs in points, 20-point games, 30-point games, field goals made, three-point field goals made and starts.

Powell led the Clippers in scoring 30 times, tying James Harden for the team lead, recording 38 20-point games, 10 30-point games and a 41-point performance on February 13. He scored at least 25 points in a career-long six consecutive games from December 16 through December 30 and had a career-best 11-straight 20-point streak from January 16 through February 8. Additionally, he has made the postseason in nine of his 10 seasons.
Anderson, who was acquired by the HEAT in a trade on February 6, appeared in 25 games (one start) with Miami and averaged 6.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 18.4 minutes.
Love played two and a half seasons in Miami, appearing in 23 games (nine starts) last season averaging 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 10.9 minutes.
