MIAMI, FL – FIU Baseball’s offense went off against Merrimack, and outfielder Kishon Frett has been a big part of that.
For his efforts this past weekend, Frett has been named Conference USA Hitter of the Week.
The redshirt senior from Ocala was a critical part of FIU’s four-game sweep over Merrimack, recording 11 hits, six RBIs, three home runs, and a triple.
Frett went yard in three consecutive games against the Warriors.
Perhaps his most impressive performance was the Sunday matinee, going 4-for-5 with a homer, triple, and two RBIs in an 18-10 win for the Panthers.
Thus far this season, Frett has played in every game and leads FIU with a .412 batting average, 21 hits, and five home runs.
He’s a key contributor in the Panthers offense, which has the third-best overall batting average in CUSA and the eighth-most total home runs in the country.
Frett and the Panthers will look to take down the Miami Hurricanes at loanDepot Park on Tuesday, March 4th at 7pm.
