MIAMI, FL – FIU’s home opener has arrived as the Panthers take on the Florida National Conquistadors at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
After dropping a close one to Southern Utah, the winless Panthers are coming home hungry for a victory.
KEYS TO THE GAME
A massive problem the Panthers must tweak and overcome is the fouls. In FIU’s last game, they collectively amassed 27 fouls as a team, leading to the loss against the Thunderbirds.
The Panthers have to capitalize on the rebounds as well, specifically on defense. They also need to get it together on the three-point line. As a team, they are 11-40 (27.5%).
A DADE-COUNTY FOE
Coming just ten miles away from Pantherland, Florida National is coming into the bank with an 0-4 record so far into this season. In their previous game, FNU lost 67-95 against the Ave Maria Gyrenes.
The main players to look out for the Conquistadors are Cameron Johnson, who posted 20 points, and Jeremy Arnum, collecting 14 points in their last one with AMU.
BACK AT HOME
FIU kicks off a two-game homestand with the home opener against FNU on Thursday, and their second game against Howard on Monday, November 18th.
This is an opportunity for the Panthers to collect, capitalize, and correct mistakes on the court to rack up wins.
