Coming off a lengthy Holiday break, FIU Men’s Basketball will close out their non-conference schedule with a trip to Utah Tech to take on the Trailblazers tomorrow, December 30th.
FIU is coming off an impressive 82-74 win against the Maine Black Bears back on December 21st. Jaidon Lipscomb continued his hot streak with 11 points and three three-pointers. The junior guard has double-digit points in each of his last three games.
This will be FIU’s second matchup against a team from the Western Athletic Conference this year after losing to Tarleton State in the Panthers’ home opener.
It’s vice versa for Utah Tech, who defeated fellow Conference USA member Jacksonville State by a score of 81-79 on November 11th.
Utah Tech (5-7) has lost four straight games, most recently a 98-71 loss to Colorado last week.
The Trailblazers have four players averaging double-digit scoring with junior forward Tanner Christhensen leading the way with 11.7 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounds (6.8) and is second-best in blocks. (20 total)
Guard Riley Beon will likely be FIU’s biggest challenge on the perimeter. The junior is averaging 10.3 points per game and is shooting 47.4% from beyond the three-point line.
The game will tip-off at 5pm EST and will stream on ESPN+.
