Coral Gables, FL – The game started slipping away for the Miami Hurricanes early on. The Virginia Cavaliers were up by as many as 15 points in the 2nd quarter. Going into halftime though, UM went on a solid 12-2 run and cut the lead to just 35-30. It wasn’t until the final quarter that they brought the Watsco Center back to life. Both offenses came to a clash scoring back-and-forth, until a Natalija Marshall 3-point score lifted the Hurricanes to a 77-74 victory.

Coach Cullop proud of her players all around
Coach Tricia Cullop reflected on what she told her players during the game, saying
“Before the half, I just talked to them about the fact that we were getting open looks, and we needed to continue to set good screens…I thought that the pick and roll was working for us. We were sending two to the ball for a long time and we were able to hit our post players role into the rim for some pretty good shots…They stopped doing that as much late in the game. Just really, really proud of our unselfishness.”
