FIU Women’s Soccer couldn’t get anything going on offense tonight as they dropped a tightly-contested matchup to the Miami Hurricanes by a score of 1-0.

With poor conditions on the field due to a lightning delay earlier on, offense was hard to come by for both teams as there were 12 total shots by both squads combined.

The lone goal of the match came in the 68th minute, as Valery Restrepo couldn’t save a shot to the right side of the net. It was a sloppy match as well, as Miami committed 12 fouls compared to FIU’s five.

The loss drops FIU’s record to a 3-2 record, however, their road trip to begin the season has also come to an end.

FIU will host the Southeastern Louisiana Lions on Saturday, September 7th at 10am over at Leyva Family Field at FIU Soccer Stadium.
