FIU Women’s Soccer Head Coach Jonathan Garbar To Step Down

MIAMI, FL – Announced earlier today, FIU Women’s Soccer Head Coach Jonathan Garbar is leaving the program and has accepted the associate head coach position with the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

The news follows a stellar season from Garbar and FIU Women’s Soccer, in which the Panthers won the Conference USA Regular Season and Tournament Championship, along with a spot in the NCAA D1 Tournament.

FIU won 11 games this past season, including a 6-1-1 record in conference play. In addition, Garbar was named the 2024 Conference USA Coach of the Year.

“The time has come for me to move on from one of my life’s greatest privileges and transformational experiences,” said Coach Garbar in a statement by FIU Athletics. “What we have achieved in these past four years together exceeds words or reason.”

“I thank Scott Carr and his administration for providing me with this special opportunity and wish the best for FIU Athletics.”

There is no interim coach. A search for Garbar’s replacement will begin as soon as possible.
