Mike McDaniel Inks Extension with Dolphins Through 2028

McDaniel Extension Dolphins 2028

Miami, FL – Earlier today, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel, signed a contract extension that’ll keep him as the team’s coach through the 2028 season.

McDaniel joined the Dolphins in 2022, replacing former head coach Brian Flores. Since then, he’s won 20 out of the 34 games he’s coached and orchestrated back-to-back winning seasons and playoff appearances.

The future of the Dolphins looks to be solid as well, with Miami currently owning one of the top-rated offenses in the league, and a coveted landing spot for free agents and trade signings, such as when they landed stars like Tyreek Hill, Raheem Mostert, and Bradley Chubb to name a few.

All things considered, McDaniel has become a key part of the identity of the Dolphins, and it’s a well-known fact at this point that he’s created a solid relationship with the front office of Miami, including GM Chris Grier and CEO Tom Garfinkel.

The bar has been set higher for McDaniel for Year #3 as the head coach in Miami. After back-to-back playoff losses, the expectations for the Fins at the least are to win their first playoff game in over 20 years, while the team’s ceiling is to play in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans in February 2025.

Coach McDaniel and the Dolphins will look to start the season strong as they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, September 8th at 1 pm.
