After Carter Johnson hit his sixth double of the season in the third, he was able to score on an RBI single from Andres Valor to open the scoring for the Hammerheads.

Morillo made his eighth overall appearance of the season. He surrendered one run and two walks on four strikeouts. The southpaw’s ERA went down from 3.00 to 2.53. He is 2-0 with 38 strikeouts, a .175 opponents’ batting average, and 1.22 WHIP in 18 innings of work.

Franklyn Moreta came in his relief in the fourth inning. He lasted 2.2 innings, allowing two hits, a run, and two walks on one strikeout. In six games, he’s 3-1 with a 3.46 ERA, .125 opponents’ batting average, 1.16 WHIP, and 14 punchouts in 10.1 innings.

Down 2-1 in the fifth, Abrahan Ramirez tied the game with an RBI hit, scoring Valor. Emilio Barreras provided the Hammerheads with the go-ahead run in the seventh with a base hit into left field.

Chase Renner made his third bullpen appearance of 2026 in the seventh. The 6’4 right-hander was fierce in with two solid innings, striking out three while allowing just one baserunner.

In the ninth, the Hammerheads were able to score another insurance run with Ramirez scoring on a throwing error from St. Lucie’s shortstop.

Jake Faherty earned his third save of the season, but it came with hurdles along the way. The Georgetown, Kentucky native struck out the first hitter he saw and then loaded up the bases.

With one out, he recorded a huge strikeout and then got his last opponent to ground out, ending the game. Faherty’s ERA dropped from 6.75 to 5.87. He’s 1-0 in eighth contests with a .050 opponents’ batting average, 1.35 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

The Hammerheads totaled 11 hits as a team. Johnson, Valor, Josh Hogue, Barreras, and Jeremy Almonte each had multi-hit performances. They were excellent in RISP opportunities, going 4/12 as a team. Jupiter left plenty of runs on the table as well, stranding 12 on base.
