Bank of America Stadium–Inter Miami, fielding a heavily rotated squad, managed a 0–0 draw on the road against a tough Charlotte side. The Herons started five homegrown players while resting several regular starters ahead of Wednesday’s crucial CONCACAF Champions Cup match against Nashville at Chase Stadium.

Charlotte mounted several dangerous attacks on Miami’s goal but was unable to break through, thanks in large part to Rocco Ríos Novo’s strong performance in net. The match ended in a 0–0 draw, a positive result for Inter Miami and its Homegrown heroes.

Homegrown Heroes
Miami is often criticized by pundits around the league for its team-building approach, centered on signing proven star players. What frequently goes overlooked, however, is the club’s development of Homegrown talent. In total, seven Homegrown players saw action against Charlotte on Saturday night. The question now becomes: how many other MLS teams will feature that many Homegrowns in a single match this season?
Lucky number seven..#InterMiamiCF gets criticized for its ambitious approach of bringing in proven star players, but the organization has developed young Homegrown talent along the way..Let’s see how many teams play this many in a match this season..#MLS #Lemoncitylive https://t.co/lvnpVsTiir

Daniel Pinter
Daniel Pinter made his first career start against Charlotte on Saturday night and played with the poise of a seasoned veteran. He made smart decisions on the ball, timed his off-ball runs well, and competed with confidence throughout the match without showing any signs of nerves. If his performance is any indication, Pinter has significant potential for Inter Miami as he continues to develop with more playing time and experience.

Rocco The Rock
Rocco Ríos Novo delivered an outstanding goalkeeping performance against Charlotte on Saturday night. The MLS Cup–winning keeper reminded everyone that he is on Inter Miami’s bench only because of Dayne St. Clair’s arrival. Based on his display, Ríos Novo has the quality to be the starting goalkeeper for Inter Miami—or for many other MLS teams.

Nashville Next
Inter Miami rested ten of its starters Saturday night versus Charlotte in preparation for its CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of Sixteen Second Leg match this coming Wednesday night. The Herons have their sights set firmly on winning the tournament and adding another trophy to their mantle. Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and the other starters will be rested and ready to attempt to eliminate Nashville once again from an international tournament.
