FIU Panthers swept by WKU Hilltoppers in Conference USA road opener. After getting blown out in game one, 15-4 in 7 innings, the Tops put their pedal to the metal. Despite game two going to 10 innings, the Panthers’ pitching woes continue to haunt them.
Game 2
Game two was a golden opportunity for the Panthers to steal a game. The Panthers started the game with two quick runs from Cooper Rasmussen and Andrew Ildefonso. They had the Tops on the ropes. At the start of the bottom of the 4-3 lead. The Tops came back, scoring two runs in the third.

Quick adjustments from the Panthers again led to two runs off a Rasmussen Home Run. (Tracen Camer ran in from first base) This would be the final time that the Panthers would score this game, as the Tops would hit a walk off Homerun in the 10th Inning to cap off game two.

10 Innings
Game 3
Game 3 was similar to Game 1, as the Panthers struggled to stay consistent. The Tops scored two runs in the first two innings. In which the Panthers responded with two of their own. Although the Tops were able to score in all but three innings. Leading to a rough finish to a rough Conference USA opening weekend.

The Panthers will now look ahead to their home game against the Miami Hurricanes, who are looking to bounce back from a 20-10 (7 innings) loss to Duke in Durham.
